Karla Estephany Alvarado Romero has a Master’s degree in International Relations Studies from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and is currently the Coordinator of Content Creation and Social Networking at the World Youth Academy. As a student of the Bachelor’s Degree in International Relations by the same UNAM, she received the recognition of high academic performance and the scholarship of the Academic Excellence Program. She graduated from both the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs with honors. In 2016, Karla Alvarado received a scholarship from the Mexican Institute of Youth to do an internship at the Young Americas Business Trust (YABT-OAS) in Panama. Subsequently, she was a public official for five years at the National Fund for the Promotion of Tourism (FONATUR). In 2019 she did a research stay at Rice University’s Baker Institute for Public Policy in Houston, Texas. Her research interests include bilateral relations between the United States and the People’s Republic of China (PRC), China’s rise in the global arena, international trade, regional studies, gender studies, and human rights.
