Proper communication can be the most effective way to inform your customers, beneficiaries and target audience about what you do, when you do it and why you do it. But you must know how to inform them. In times of crisis, communication plays an even bigger role.

The interactive online training, which includes group work session in part 2, will inform you about the aspects that you need to consider when planning your crisis communication strategy. Among others, you will be sensitized to the effects that your words can have, learn to better anticipate the impression that your company’s behavior and actions leave with your target audience, and be familiarized with the challenges that you will face when choosing the right moment to communicate effectively.

After this training, you will have a deeper understanding about how to choose your words in stressful situations and be mindful about your team’s appearance and the different communication approaches in press briefings. The group work will allow you to compare different approaches to crisis communication with other participants of different backgrounds.

This training, which builds in parts on the World Youth Academy’s webinar ‘Crisis Preparedness and Crisis Management’, will help you to better navigate through the next crisis situation.
You will learn about the importance of communication skills in crisis situations and sharpen the perspective that your crisis communication team takes in their daily work – no matter if you work in private industry, for an NGO or governmental services. Since the training will start with the basics and take you through more advanced considerations of crisis communication, there is no need for specific knowledge about the topic prior to this training
